About the Show

Immerse yourself in the timeless tale of love, valor, & dharma through an awe-inspiring blend of music, dance, & drama! Witness the story of Lord Ram, Sita, & their journey like you have never seen before. Rungmunch will be staging the great Indian saga Raamaayan in Dance Drama format. The script is based on the Geet Raamaayan, originally written in Marathi by Shri G. D. Madgulkar & music composed by Shri Sudhir Phadke. Geet Raamaayan completed 65th anniversary. Shri Dattaprasad Jog translates it into Hindi. The cultural ministry of Government of India published Hindi script with the mission to publicize this treasure of Maharashtra worldwide. It will be a privilege to introduce this unique script to the wider audience & we are really fortunate to get this opportunity to do first program in the entire world.
This is a very rare opportunity to witness an unique & grand production. Our past production in Marathi was acclaimed by over 1000 Marathi speaking audience in Bay Area & over 4000 audience from entire USA at Marathi Convention at Grand Rapids. Some of the highlights of the show:

Sheshaprasad Chikkatur is a seasoned Vocalist & a Music Director living in California, U.S.A. He is trained in Hindustani Classical Music and is known for his versatility & experimentation from classical to contemporary genres of music in multiple languages. He is trained under various renowned gurus and has been teaching music for adults and kids in the bay area via Mahati School of Music.

Narendra was initiated into music (& Harmonium) by his Mother, in his early childhood. After that, he honed his Harmonium skills by himself. He was greatly influenced by Harmonium playing & performance of Dr. Vidhadhar Oke, a well-known Harmonium player from Mumbai.

Samruddhi Ghaisas is a pediatric occupational therapist by profession and is passionate about music, theater and literature. Introduced to Indian classical by her mother, Samruddhi has learnt from several gurus over a period of 2 decades. She is active in Bay area music and theater circles.

Shreyas Vartak is an engineer by profession & a musician by passion. He has been learning Tabla from Shri. Satish Tare ji since 5 yrs now. He has been accompanying & participating in various programs across Bay Area.

By profession, he is an application engineer in the semiconductor industry, but his heart belongs to classical music. Training under Guru Nachiketa Yakkundi for five years, he continues to refine his art and share his love for music.

Ishita is a Bay Area high school sophomore & an award-winning Hindustani classical vocalist with over a decade of musical education & performances.

Tejas is a self taught flautist & keyboardist based in Bay area, California. He started learning Hindustani classical vocals from Shri Hemant Patil at the age of 9 but soon developed an interest in playing musical instruments. He taught himself the harmonium & soon shifted to the Flute.

Pratima Shah is a trained bharatnatyam dancer & choreographer. She underwent her initial training under Guru Smt. Sucheta Joshi at very young age & completed her Arangetram at the age of 13. Having found her passion, she continued her training in Kalakshetra style at “Aradhana Institute of Dance”, under Guru. Smt Prerna Desai.
She has received training in Classical Ballet at Phoenix, AZ. Currently Pratima continues to learn from Guru Sandhya Dharma. Pratima has participated in many reputed dance productions in India & bay area.

Pragya Dasgupta, the founder & artistic director of Tarana Dance Academy, had started her Kathak journey at a very early age. After completing double Master degree in Economics & Kathak Dance, she dedicated herself to Kathak as a performing artist & earned Gold medal. She was fortunate enough to get trained by Kathak maestro “Nritya Shiromani” Guru Bandana Sen & “Nrityavilas” Guru Smt. Suchandra Banerjee.

A Masters in Engineering background from US, Dipanwita started her dance career at the age of six from Smt. Anima Basak-Majumder, a senior disciple of legendary Kathak maestro NrityaShiromoni Guru Bandana Sen. After completing her 6th Year Diploma in Kathak from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad, she joined "The Nupur Dance Academy" of Kolkata where she received advanced training from Kathak maestro Nrityavilash Guru Suchandra Banerjee & then from the legendary Kathak maestro NrityaShiromoni Guru Bandana Sen herself.

Gayatri Joshi, a renowned Odissi performer, choreographer, & instructor, has been fervently advocating for Indian Heritage & Culture across the globe for more than thirty years, primarily from her base in California, USA.She has mentored & nurtured hundreds of students including solo dance debut for 11 & conduct lecture demonstration at schools & colleges including UC Santa Cruz.

Madhuri Kishore is a visionary artist, an accomplished dancer, choreographer, & teacher, & the esteemed founder & artistic director of the Madhuri Kishore School of Kuchipudi, based in the vibrant cultural hub of the Bay Area. Trained under the tutelage of legendary Gurus . Smt. Madhuri Kishore has not only mastered the intricacies of Kuchipudi but has also infused it with her own creative brilliance & deep passion.

When not dancing, she works as Engineering Manager in bay area. Currently, she is a senior desciple of Guru Deepali Vichare.
